Duang With You review – Okay so… let’s talk about the current obsession of my life: Duang With You. The newest series from DMD and yes I am completely, unapologetically obsessed.

For context, it’s a Thai romantic comedy about Duang, an enthusiastic interior design student, and Qin, a cold and popular music major. After Duang confesses at a festival (bold. insane. iconic behavior), he basically starts pursuing Qin, who is very much not ready for all that at first. What follows is this perfect little cat-and-mouse dynamic where Duang’s sincerity slowly starts breaking down Qin’s walls… and it’s just SO GOOD.

Like wow. I love this show so much. The characters, the story progression, the pacing, the little details, everything just hits. It’s not trying to be overly dramatic or shocking, but that’s exactly what makes it so special. The beauty is in how real and intentional everything feels.

What I love most about this show is how it feels like such a breath of fresh air. The dynamic between Duang and Qin doesn’t follow the usual fixed stereotypes, and it just works so well. It feels softer, more equal, more real. And the chemistry? Off the charts. You can feel it in every scene, both in the romantic moments and the quieter ones.

There’s also something so beautiful about how the story handles love. It’s not rushed or forced. It’s patient. It shows how love grows when people choose to be vulnerable, when they put in the effort, when they learn to understand each other. Duang’s softness and persistence, Qin’s healing and slow opening up, it all feels so earned.

Actors

And I need to talk about TeeTee as Duang, because??? That man understood the assignment on a spiritual level. I am someone who gets secondhand embarrassment SO easily, and somehow… Duang never makes me feel that way. At all. Which is honestly impressive, because on paper he should. But the way TeeTee plays him, it’s never embarrassing it’s just like, yeah… that’s Duang. He’s soft, genuine, a little chaotic, and so deeply sincere that you can’t help but root for him.

And Por as Qin??? Perfect casting. Actually insane. The way he plays that emotional distance, that quiet hurt, and then slowly lets those walls come down… yeah, I’m not okay.

Canon or not?

Also, small (maybe slightly hot?) take: Duang feels very autism-coded to me. I don’t know if that’s intentional or ever been confirmed, but as someone who is neurodivergent, there are so many little details in the way he thinks, reacts, and expresses himself that just feel… familiar in a way that’s hard to ignore. It’s in the subtle things: the way he processes situations, how he sometimes seems slightly out of sync with what’s expected of him socially, or how deeply he feels things even if he doesn’t always show it in the “typical” way.

And that kind of recognition hits differently. Because representation doesn’t always have to be loud or explicitly labeled to matter. Sometimes it’s exactly these quiet, unspoken traits that feel the most real. Seeing parts of myself reflected in a character like him, without it being reduced to a stereotype or turned into a whole “lesson”, feels incredibly comforting. It’s like being seen without being singled out.

Whether it’s intentional or not, it adds a whole extra layer to his character for me. It makes me connect to him more deeply, and honestly, it’s one of the reasons he stuck with me the way he did.

Characters

What I think makes Duang With You so special is that underneath all the softness, the humor, and the lighthearted moments… there’s something much heavier quietly existing the whole time.

It looks like a fluffy, easy-to-watch romance on the surface. You laugh, you smile, you fall in love with the characters. But if you actually pay attention, there’s so much depth in the way it handles emotions, trauma, and healing.

Qin is the clearest example of that. On the outside, he’s distant, cold, almost untouchable. But the more the story unfolds, the more you realize that none of that comes from nowhere. There’s pain there. There’s history. There are experiences that shaped him into someone who learned to protect himself by shutting people out. And the show doesn’t rush that. It doesn’t magically fix him. It lets him take his time, lets him be guarded, lets him struggle.

And then there’s Duang.

At first glance, he’s the sunshine character. The one who’s a bit chaotic, a bit intense, very open with his feelings. But even that carries weight. The way he loves so fully, so intentionally, without holding back, that takes courage. That takes vulnerability. Especially when it’s not always returned in the same way at first.

One of the best series of 2026?

What makes their dynamic so powerful is that it’s not just “sunshine meets grumpy.” It’s someone who chooses to stay soft in a world that could easily harden him, meeting someone who is slowly learning that it’s safe to be soft again.

And that’s where the heaviness really sits.

It’s in the patience. In the quiet moments. In the way love isn’t used as a quick fix, but as something that grows, something that requires effort, understanding, and time. The show is constantly asking: what does it mean to love someone who is still healing? And what does it mean to allow yourself to be loved when you’re not used to it?

Even the lighter moments: the jokes, the chaos, the side characters being hilarious, they don’t take away from that depth. They balance it. They make the heavy parts hit even harder because you’ve grown attached, because you care.

That’s why this show stays with you.

Because it’s not just giving you a love story. It’s giving you a story about being seen, about being understood, about learning that you don’t have to carry everything alone.

Long story short: if you’re not watching Duang With You, what are you doing. Go fix that immediately. You are missing out. I am obsessed, everyone is obsessed, and I will not be shutting up about this anytime soon.

But if you made it this far and you’re even slightly intrigued, good. That’s exactly where I want you.
Now stop reading and go watch it. Here’s the trailer. You’ll get it.
